Remember back to the time I kept writing about squid? Well now it's all about octopus. Today I ate the most tender and most flavorful octopus meat to ever pass these lips. I had lunch with two clients at Estiatorio Milos, a midtown lunch mainstay. It's a Greek seafood place with high prices and a tony clientele in navy blue and power ties. The service is impeccable and the food is as good as it gets. I'd been there for dinner once before, which was great, but today's lunch was even better. I started with the octopus, which was grilled and served with roasted peppers, onions, and capers. I had a whole loup de mer for my entree. It was butterflied with the spine removed, but with the head and tail still in attendance for decoration. And it was naked--served with nothing else. The definition of succulence. Just wonderful.

For dessert I had Karidopita--a moist, not-too-sweet walnut cake. And it came with honey-lavender ice cream from my favorite place, Il Laboratorio del Gelato.

Finish with one cappuccino and you've got--well, i had--a perfect meal.
