I'm sad tonight because I just read that Grant McLennan of The Go-Betweens died. He was 48.

Chris Conti The Whip™ introduced me to the music of The Go-Betweens in 1989, just in time for their break-up. (They got back together again in the early 00s). I've been obsessed with their song Bye Bye Pride ever since. If you ever received mix tapes or CDs from me, go back and look at the first one I made you--Bye Bye Pride is probably there.

Sunny and sad, McLennan's songs make me think of my youth. Bachelor Kisses is particularly lovely, and just look at how young and sweet the band looks in this video.
